Review & Swatches: Surf Baby Skinsheen Bronzer Sticks

These are, essentially, cream bronzers that come in stick form. The formula is soft and creamy. These colors are also extremely pigmented, so you have to apply the product lightly.

You can use this product both for contouring and over the cheeks. Because of the form of the product and intense pigmentation, it would be difficult to use for overall color.

Review & Swatches: MAC Surf Baby Bronzing Powders

The formulation for MAC’s bronzers is high–the powders apply evenly and aren’t too powdery. The pigment is balanced enough that you can use them for both contouring and overall bronzing (though the gold shimmers in Refined Golden would make it inappropriate to contour with). Because Solar Riche is so distinctly warm-toned, it would be more appropriately used as on the cheeks instead of for overall bronzing or contouring. Continue reading

Review & Swatches: MAC Surf Baby Eye Shadows

These colors, across the board, are fantastically pigmented. Usually, MAC collections have some colors that are pigmented and some that aren’t. For Surf, Baby!, all these colors are consistently pigmented. The best color is Surf USA. MAC has released countless teals, but Surf USA is probably the smoothest, most pigmented teal the company has come out with.

Review & Swatches: MAC Surf Baby Nail Polishes

Although these polishes are good, they’re not impressive. Hangin Loose is a simple nude color with tiny silver shimmers. Ocean Dip is an easily dupe-able creamy aqua color.

Other than the non-uniqueness of these colors, they also go on more unevenly than other MAC polishes. With both colors, you need to apply at least 2 layers to get (close to) an even finish. Continue reading

Review & Swatches: MAC Surf Baby Suntints

These balms are great (1) because they have absolutely no stickiness to them and (2) because they provide sun protection to your lips. It’s nice to have a lip product that doesn’t feel tacky. More importantly, you should always protect your skin (including the skin on your lips) from sun damage. Though this is true every day (rain or shine), it’s especially true during the Summer, when you’re more likely to be outside while it’s sunny. And SPF of 20 is just the right amount of sun protection for your skin.

Review & Swatches: MAC Surf Baby Lipglasses

Girl on Board is a sparkly white color; Good Loving is a sparkly, light peachy/pink; Krazy Kahuna is a non-sparkly brown; Strange Potion is a slightly shimmery coral pink.

All of these colors have good pigmentation. Like with most lipglasses, these aren’t super sticky.

All the colors are pretty wearable, with Krazy Kahuna likely being the most difficult to pull off if you have pale skin. Continue reading

Review & Swatches: MAC Surf Baby Lipsticks

The pigmentation and formulations for all these colors are solid. Just because of its color, Naturally Eccentric is probably the least smooth in application. But even then, it’s a pale nude that doesn’t magnify lip imperfections or make you look dead. Hibiscus and Bust Out! are more moisturizing formulations (lustres). Hibiscus is a unique coral color while Bust Out! goes on semi-opaque, making it a wearable purple. Remember that Mocha is a permanent color. Continue reading
