Bright Beauty: Introducing a New Series

When I envisioned this blog, I pictured one that was full of up-to-date news on upcoming collections, detailed pictures, thorough reviews, and fun tutorials. But I was also determined to look deeper into makeup and the cosmetics industry. I wanted to share what I know about good skincare/makeup practices, the science behind active ingredients, and the truth behind cosmetic claims–all in order to give my readers the resources to make educated purchasing decisions and to know what to really expect from the products they buy instead of relying solely on what companies claim their products do. Hence, this blog’s motto: “be bright, be beautiful.” We can be smart about beauty.

So, it’s time to make the “educational” part of this blog a reality! Introducing: a new series called “Bright Beauty.” Several classes of posts will fall under this series, including SkinTalk, Beauty Lingo, and Truth Patrol.

Skin Talk: In Skin Talk posts, we will focus on how to best take care of your skin. I will discuss what things you should and shouldn’t put on your skin, how to tell whether a skincare product is good for your skin, and how to solve common issues with your skin.

Beauty Lingo: This will be a more light-hearted line of posts that covers the lingo used in the beauty industry.

Truth Patrol: A face cream that makes you look 10 years younger? Magical, rare ingredients that erase wrinkles? Lip gloss that inhibits hunger and makes you skinnier? Find out what’s fact and what’s fiction.

Tips & Tricks: These posts will give you simple tips and insider tricks to help you take beauty to the next level.

DIY: Don’t feel like spending the money on an expensive brush cleaner? In the mood for an at-home spa treatment? There are tons of products you can re-create yourself. Find out how with DIY remedies and recipes.

I hope you enjoy this new series!
