This review covers the “In the Abstract” highlighter palette from MAC’s Art of Powder collection.
- In the Abstract: Soft pink base with yellow gold lines and lavender and mid-tone pink dots
This palette comes in the same packaging as MAC’s eye shadow quads. They have flip-up lids that close magnetically.
Although the color that predominates in the pan is a light pink, you get a shimmery, pale gold when this highlighter is actually applied to the skin.
This is a decent formulation that’s finely milled. It’s powdery, but if you’re not using a dense brush, this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
There’s nothing particularly unique about the color. Since it shows up a pale gold, it may be more appropriate for the summertime or on neutral and warm skin tones.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
There’s a good amount of fallout, but since you’ll only be applying this lightly to small areas of the face, this should be a minor issue.
The palette costs $38.00 and contains 9 grams of powder. MSFs are $28.00 and contain 10 grams of product.
