Company’s Description
This unique and modern texture is fresh and dewy on the cheeks, and is easily applied with the fingers for a youthful glow.
3 Custom Color Specialists’ Simply Beautiful shade comes in lipstick, creme-to-powder blush, cheek and lip stain, lipgloss, and sheer lipstick form. This review is for the Simply Beautiful lip and cheek stain.
Packaging: 10/10
This compact is made of metal-looking steel-colored plastic that has the “3″ logo on the top. Inside, you will find the stain and, conveniently, a mirror. The packaging is simple and sleek. It’s also particularly lightweight and ideal for traveling with. The snap-shut lid will keep the compact from opening up in your bag and the product from drying out.
Quality: 9.75/10
Simply Beautiful shows up as a semi-sheer flush of color that gives your skin a blush of color. It is very natural and a color that would work for many skin tones.
Cream stains can be difficult to blend out. They can also be overly sheer and require a lot of layering. This stain is not like that.
The formula is creamy, the color shows up well, and it blends over the skin very easily while maintaining its pigmentation. It also does not have an oily finish to it like many other stains. Instead, the finish is very natural, leaving a dewy sheen. On the lips, the stain is neither moisturizing nor drying.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
This is a very easy stain to work with because you can easily blend the product without losing its color. You can use a brush or your fingers.
Price: 7.5/10
This stain costs $22.50 and contains 0.08 oz of product. Lip and cheek stains in cream form are not as prolific, but for a rough comparison, Laura Mercier’s Lip Stain costs $20.00 and contains 0.21 ounces, making 3 Custom Color’s product very expensive given how much product you get.
Very natural on you. I love the color!
It’s rare to find a good stain that works for both lips and cheeks without a serious drawback for one or the other. Also, the color looks very nice–brownish in the compact, orangeish on the skin swatch, and pinkish/rosy on the lips. I guess it’s sheer enough for skin/lip color to show through?
How much do you have to use for lip &/vs cheek application? (I know that’s kind of difficult to tell in this case.)
I can’t really say…it depends on if you apply with your fingers, a brush…
Okay…Hm…does it start out very sheer, or kinda medium (did you use fingers or brush or both)?
I use my fingers for lip application and a stippling brush for blush application. I’d say it goes on medium and you can build it up by layering or sheer it out by blending more.
Gorgeous fall color!
