This is a review for Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick in Nectar. This powder retails for $38.00 and can be purchased from bobbibrowncosmetics.com or sephora.com.
Company’s Description
This shimmering, brush-on powder creates a soft, coral glow. Works well with neutral and peach blush shades.
Packaging: 9/10
Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Bricks come in reflective, square, plastic compacts that snap shut. You’ll also find a mirror on the inside.
The design is sleek and simple. My 2 small criticisms are that the packaging is more bulky than necessary (the pan inside is much smaller than the compact) and the compact gets fingerprints on it easily.
Quality: 9/10
This blush is a pinky coral color with golden shimmers. The color applies evenly, the shimmers definitely transfer onto the skin, and the blush lasts all day. Don’t layer this product too much; if you do, the powder will leave a noticeable texture on your skin.
This product is also versatile because it has strips of colors. For example, if you take a fluffy eye shadow brush, you can use the champagne color in the pan as a highlighter on your cheekbones.
The color looks lovely on the cheeks, but it could less shimmery. Because the product is so shimmery, you have to be light-handed when applying.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
The color applies smoothly and evenly, but don’t over-do it, otherwise you’ll look disco-ball-like and will get a noticeable texture to your skin.
Price: 9/10
Shimmer Bricks come with 10.3 g of product and cost $38.00 each. DiorSkin Shimmers cost $44.00 and give you 9.92 g of product. MAC Mineralize Blushes cost $22.00 and give you 3.5 g of blush. So even though $38.00 seems like a lot, the price is actually very reasonable because of how much product you get.
Try if: you want a product you can use both as a highlighter and blush
Buy if: you’re looking for a shimmery, pink/coral blush
Oops, I think I used the wrong email for my post…
Wow, that looks REALLY gorgeous on! I wasn’t tempted until I read this…bad, me, very bad…must…stop…reading….
I’ve always wanted to give these shimmer bricks a try, but not this particular shade. I’ve never really used any Bobbi Brown products.
Don’t worry. I will be reviewing many other Bobbi Brown products in the future, including other Shimmer Brick shades.

Interesting. Maybe this is why I think my MAC blushes make my skin look bad because I love ODing on blush :p
That’s so pretty! Your advice on light application is well-taken. I tend to love the shimmer/glitter and overdo it!
this is cute.
It looks amazing!
