This is a review for Cargo’s PlantLove Blush in Begonia, which is described as an “electric rose” color. This blush costs $26.00 and can be purchased at cargocosmetics.com.
PlantLove 100% Natural Origin Blush is an ultra-fine and incredibly soft micronized blush that is infused with both natural and organic ingredients.
This blush comes in a flat, egg-shaped compact that snaps shut. The top is decorated with pink accents. I do wish the compact came with a mirror. But the great thing about this packaging is that it’s environmentally friendly.
This color is one of the most unique I’ve seen. It’s a peachy, muted rose color. What separates it from the rest is that it has a duo-chrome to it–a blue/purple sheen. I’ve seen a lot of eye shadows with duo chromes in them before, but never a blush. It was difficult to capture the effect on camera, but you can sort of see the sheen in the swatch picture and in the pictures of the blush pan at different angles, below.
The blush could be more pigmented. The formulation is also a bit stiff in the pan, meaning it has a little bit of difficulty transferring onto a brush. But the inconvenience is minor; you’ll just have to dip your brush more than once to pick up the product.
Ease of Use: 8.25/10
Despite the unique color, this product takes some work to apply correctly. You do need to layer the color because you want the duo-chrome effect to show. On the other hand, you have to pay attention and not layer on too much. The duo-chrome effect looks strange on the cheeks if you make it too prominent.
You get 9 g of product for $26.00. For comparison, MAC powder blushes are $19.50 each and give you 6 g. That’s $2.89/g for Cargo’s blush and $3.24/g for MAC’s blushes. The price tag is pretty good, especially given that this blush is “100% natural.”
Try if: you’ve never used a duo-chrome blush before
Buy if: you want a unique blush that’s natural and comes in eco-friendly packaging
