It’s a whole new wardrobe for your cheeks: mix and match this trio of colors to create a range of looks. Each features LFT (Light Filter Technology) to automatically adjust its pigments based on your lighting. The result is the perfect glow under any light, day or night. Made with long-lasting, jet-milled talc, these three silky powders glide on evenly to create a natural, healthy-looking glow. Moisturizers and vitamins calm and soothe thirsty skin.
Charlotte’s friends inspired each product. “As a designer and a busy mother, Shoshanna Gruss is always on the go. Somehow she always manages to look beautiful, stylish, and relaxed. This Trio compliments Shoshanna’s fresh glow—and offers multiple ways to transition your own look.”
Charlotte Ronson recently created a makeup line, which is sold exclusively at Sephora stores. This review is for the highlighter/blush/bronzer trio in Shoshana.
Shoshana comes in a flat, rectangular, black plastic compact that snaps shut. The lid is decorated with three drawn profiles. There is a full-length mirror inside and the well is divided into 3 evenly-sized pans for each color.
The luminizer shows up on the skin with a noticeable white cast and sizable silver glitters. This highlighter is unflattering because of the white color it leaves behind, the overly large silver glitters, and its chalky formula.
The blush is a peach-coral-pink with small gold shimmers, much like NARS’ Super Orgasm blush. It has good color pay-off and is not chalky like the luminizer, but is a little powdery.
The bronzer is a very warm-toned, medium sable. This color is quite unflattering because it is very noticeably orange, which gives the skin a bad fake-tan look. The formula is also a bit chalky and powdery.
Overall, this is a disappointing palette. I personally wouldn’t use either the highlighter or the bronzer. The blush is good, but isn’t unique enough to make up for the negatives of the other colors.
Ease of Use: 8.5/10
The luminizer and blush transfer easily, but the bronzer takes some layering. You’ll need to use a light hand with the luminizer to minimize the white cast.
For $28.00, you essentially get 3 items totaling 24.66 grams, which is a very good price-to-product ratio. The price is less-than-ideal, though, since 2/3 colors aren’t very flattering.
