Company’s Description
Lavish your lips. Sensational shades. Lasting color. Intriguing effects.
New Color Intrigue Effects Lipstick glides on smoothly to hydrate, soften and shine. Creates effects that go from cream to shimmer to shine. Triple Emollient Technology and vitamins A, C and E and aloe instantly moisturize and soften lips for total comfort.
Elizabeth Arden’s Color Intrigue Effects Lipsticks are marketed as moisturizing and come in 20 shades. This review looks at the color Poppy Cream 01.
Packaging: 9.75/10
This lipstick comes in a sleek, black, rectangular tube that is rounded at the corners. The signature Elizabeth Arden door icon is embossed on the top of the cap.
Quality: 9.8/10
Poppy Cream is a slightly blue-based red (though Elizabeth Arden says it’s yellow-based) that leaves a sheen finish. The color is intense and completely opaque.
The formula is creamy and moisturizing, gliding smoothly onto the skin. The lipstick does not settle into or emphasize lip-lines. The wear lasts 3-4 hours if you aren’t eating or drinking.
Ease of Use: 9.8/10
Because the formula is creamy and the color is strong, application is easy. There’s no tugging or skipping on the skin and no need to do multiple layers.
Price: 9/10
For $19.50, you get 3.5 grams of lipstick. MAC’s lipsticks cost $14.50 and contain 3 grams, so the Color Intrigue Effects lipstick is slightly more expensive.
Is it me or does Poppy Cream has a tiny hint of coral? Maybe it’s just because it’s yellow-based.. Its a beautiful color, might pick this one up also!
I actually had a very hard time deciding whether this was blue or orange based. I think it’s fair to say it’s a neutral red.
Love this one too!
this color is really beautiful and I like that it’s buildable!
I think this is a softer version of Rouge.
thanks for the swatches!
This looks very similar to Rouge to me…I see the difference in the arm swatches, but it’s really hard to tell on lips…I think this one is slightly more flattering on you though. I guess since it’s less blue-based, and more neutral?
All 3 of the Estee Lauder lipsticks I received are similar. But yes, this one and Rouge are the most similar.
Really Pretty!! Thanks!!
