Review & Swatches: FaceFront Intermix Cyber Gels

FaceFront Intermix Cyber Gels

FaceFront’s Intermix collection contains 2 Cyber Gels: Mango, Honey! and Meramint. They cost $9.50 each.

  • Mango, Honey!: a bright, refreshing, citrus orange with yellow undertone (matte finish)
  • Meramint: classic, bright, cool minty green (pewter finish)
  • Company’s Description

Versatile enough to use as a waterproof liner and cream shadow base. These creamy gels are formulated to celebrate your inner-artist. Use them to create the perfect smoky eye, or use them as a base for your eyeshadow/pigments to truly intensify the pigment.

    Packaging: 9/10

These liners come in plastic jars that have twist-off tops. The packaging is lightweight and the tops fit securely, making these good for putting in your makeup case. Unlike the normal FaceFront packaging, these display a bright pink background with a silver stripe across the name label on the bottom of the jar.

    Quality: 7.75/10

Mango, Honey! is a light orange color while Meramint is a medium, cool-toned green.

I found these 2 colors to be less impressive than other FaceFront Cyber Gels. They both lack a little pigmentation and didn’t go on as evenly as Cyber Gels usually do. Several layers are required to get a more even finish and pigmentation.

The liners are nice and creamy, which is a must for any liner or shadow base. FaceFront does claim these are waterproof, and while they are resistant to wear, I wouldn’t quite claim they are waterproof.

    Ease of Use: 8.25/10

While these gels are smooth, they go on unevenly, so you will need to apply several layers. Use a pointed brush to apply as a liner or flatter, small brush (or your fingers) if you want to use them as a shadow base.

    Price: 9.25/10

The liners are $9.50 each and contain 2.3 g of product. For comparison, MAC Fluidline is $15.00 and contains 3 g while Buxom’s Stay There eye shadows are $17.00 and contain 3.4 g. That works out to $4.13/g for FaceFront and $5/g for MAC and Buxom. You’re getting a good deal with FaceFront’s liners.

Toss if: you want waterproof liners
Try if: you normally use pencil liners and want to venture into gel liners
Buy if: you want smooth gel liners in unique colors
