FaceFront’s Lust Quest collection contains 3 Cyber Gels: Black Jax, Magnetica, and Visionary Violet. FaceFront describe these as ultra-rich, waterproof gel liner/shadow duos. They cost $9.50 each.
Please see this post for more photos and swatches.
Versatile enough to use as a waterproof liner and cream shadow base. These creamy gels are formulated to celebrate your inner-artist. Use them to create the perfect smoky eye, or use them as a base for your eyeshadow/pigments to truly intensify the pigment.
These liners come in plastic jars that have twist-off tops. The packaging is lightweight and the tops fit securely, making these good for putting in your makeup case. Each jar also has a glittery, silver heart painted on the inside of the lid.
Each jar lid has a clear plastic sticker on it displaying the company’s logo. I would prefer the logo to be printed directly onto the jar. But, again, this preference is minor, and given that FaceFront is a newly re-vamped company, I expect that the packaging designs will change and improve over time.
Black Jax is a matte, intense black. Magnetica is a sparkly silver grey. Visionary Violet is a medium, satin purple.
All of these colors are very pigmented and go on extremely smoothly. I was particularly impressed with how opaque Black Jax is. Magnetica and Visionary Violet would also be beautiful shadow colors as well as liner colors.
For a normal gel liner, these are great. And they live up to FaceFront’s claims of being “ultra-rich.” And although they will stay on your lids all day under normal conditions, they aren’t waterproof as claimed. They will smudge slightly if you rub your eyes (which you shouldn’t be doing with eye makeup on anyway), and the product will peel/flake if you get the liner wet. So even though this is a solid product, I have to take off points for them not being waterproof as claimed.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
These liners are easier to use than a lot of other gel liners because of how smooth and pigmented they are. Take a pointed liner brush to apply or flatter, small brush if you want to use them as a shadow base.
The liners are $9.50 each and contain 2.3 g of product. For comparison, MAC Fluidline is $15.00 and contains 3 g while Buxom’s Stay There eye shadows are $17.00 and contain 3.4 g. That works out to $4.13/g for FaceFront and $5/g for MAC and Buxom. You’re getting a good deal with FaceFront’s liners.
