This is a review for Glowology’s Heavenly Honey Body Wash. You can purchase this product at Glowology’s website or at Neiman Marcus stores.
Packaging: 9.5/10
This bath wash comes in a plastic squeeze tube that has a flip-up cap and circular opening to dispense the product.
Quality: 8.5/10
Glowology’s Heavenly Honey body wash has a scent of honey and brown sugar. The scent is very light, so this is a good body wash for those with sensitive noses. The scent doesn’t linger on the skin after you dry off.
The wash itself is also lightweight: it has a thin gel consistency. It gives you medium lather and distributes easily over the skin.
Consistent with the company’s claims, this is a good body wash for people with “sensitive” skin or anyone who wants a gentle cleanser. The wash contains Allantoin (an effective anti-irritant), Chamomile (a good antioxidant and anti-bacterial ingredient), Honey (an anti-irritant and antioxidant), Marshmallow (an anti-irritant), Oat extract (an anti-irritant), and Panthenol (Vitamin B).
There are some not-so-good ingredients listed, such as lavender oil and clove extract, which can both irritate the skin. But those ingredients are listed at the bottom of the ingredients list, so there is a relatively small amount in the product. More predominant is fragrance, which is a skin irritant.
Overall, this wash contains a lot of skin-benefiting and soothing ingredients, but the good ingredients are brought down by a few irritating ingredients, the most concerning of which is fragrance.
Ease of Use: 9.25/10
The wash has a medium lather, so it takes a little more work and product to distribute over the skin. Otherwise, using this wash is simple.
Price: 7.5/10
You pay $16.00 for 7 fl oz of body wash. A bottle of philosophy’s bath gel also costs $16.00, but gives you 16 fl oz of product. Glowology’s bath wash is relatively expensive. The cost is mitigated a little by the fact that you’re paying for high-quality ingredients.
Misc.:
This wash contains a good number of organic ingredients (albeit in the second-half of the ingredients list).
Hm…I wonder if this scent is at all like Honey I Washed the Kids from LUSH, or Fresh Brown Sugar? They all sound in the same vein, at least. I don’t think I’ll be trying this based on your review (especially at that price!); but I’ll have to give it a sniff if I’m near a Neiman’s anytime soon.
It’s lighter than Honey I Washed the Kids and not sweet smelling like Fresh Brown Sugar.
I must admit I have a sweet…tooth? nose?…when it comes to fragrances. It still sounds a bit enticing though. Thanks for telling me how they compare!
