Review: Illamasqua Theatre of the Nameless Intense Lipgloss in “Belladonna”

Intense Lipgloss in Belladonna

This review covers Illamasqua’s Theatre of the Nameless Intense Lipglosses in Belladonna. Illamasqua describes Belladonna as a “deep pink.”

Packaging: 9/10

The Intense Lipglosses come in clear, squeezable tubes and have slanted plastic applicators.

Quality: 9.25/10

This is a very opaque, strong, bright, cool-toned magenta/pink. You get a glossy finish.

Some lip glosses are very thin, almost watery. Illamasqua’s Intense Lipglosses are more thick, though they aren’t sticky or tacky. The wear time is also longer than most lipglosses–3.5-5 hours if you’re not drinking or eating.

Ease of Use: 9/10

You get a tiny bit of resistance when applying to the lips because of the formula, but otherwise the gloss goes on easily. You will need to be careful and precise–Belladonna’s bright color will make any mistakes stand out.

Price: 9.25/10

You get 0.2 fl oz for £13.00 ($20.00 in the US). For comparison, MAC’s Pro Longwear Lipglasses are 0.06 fl oz and cost $18.50 each. You get tons more product-for-price plus opaque color with Belladonna.

  1. For me the color looks good on your skin!

I ask about the applicator because the L’Oreal Bare Naturale gentle lip conditioners have this soft sort of slightly flexible rubbery/plastic slanted tip that I really love. Have you ever tried them?

Oh, and do the Intense glosses have the Starburst-ish scent like the Sheer lipglosses? (Do the lipsticks also have a scent? Or just the glosses?)

Heh that official description sounds a bit off…a Deep pink? a BRIGHT deep pink, I guess. It looks gorgeous on you, though I would never be able to convince myself to wear it out. I like the slanted applicators like that…I think they’re more comfortable and sanitary than the doe foots (though the doe foots are fine, nothing really wrong with them…I just like the slanted ones better.) Is the applicator sort of rubbery and soft, or is it stiff?

I just ordered my first Illamasqua lipgloss in “Succubus”. I can’t wait till it comes. I keep hearing so many good things about them!
