This review covers the 4 MAC Fashion Flower lipsticks in Summer Shower, Mlle, Ever Hip, and Growing Trend.
- Summer Shower (glaze): light aqua (limited edition)
- Mlle (glaze): light white pink (re-promote from Femme Noir)
- Ever Hip (cremesheen): bright creamy coral (re-promote from Give Me Liberty of London)
- Growing Trend (amplified creme): mid-tone taupe nude (limited edition)
Please see this post for more photos of the lipsticks.
Packaging: 9/10
These lipsticks come in standard MAC packaging. The tubes are made of plastic and can easily be taken on-the-go.
Quality: 9.25/10
Summer Shower goes on as a glittery, almost clear color. If you apply several layers, you can see a very subtle teal tint. Mlle is a very pale, greyish pink color. Ever Hip is a coral color that has a very glossy finish. Growing Trend is a taupe-nude color very similar to Viva Glam Gaga 2.
All of these lipsticks have good pigmentation and go on smoothly. None of them is drying.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
All of the colors apply smoothly and evenly. And you don’t need to do multiple layers to get the color in the tube.
Price: 9/10
These are the same size (0.1 oz) and price ($14.50) as regular MAC lipsticks.
Try: Ever Hip if you missed it from the Liberty of London collection and want a wearable coral
Buy if: You want lipsticks that apply evenly, smoothly, and have good pigmentation
ever hip is my absolute favorite, i wish it wasn’t limited edition though.
All these look really nice!!
Growing Trend looked ghastly in some other pictures (I’ve been blog-browsing for a the past half-hour…bad, bad me!) but it looks nice on you! If I may ask, what is your skintone? I’m sorry if you’ve said it already and I forgot…if you have a foundation shade reference, that would be great! Did you do just one layer of the lipsticks? I think Temptalia or some other blog I looked at had multiple layers of Mlle and Growing Trend and they didn’t look very good (to me, anyway). But I guess that might have been to show the color better? Then again, I’m not sure it’s a realistic application (Or maybe I’m just over-analyzing everything! :-p)
This release of Ever Hip looks redder/pinker than the Liberty of London one to me…does it look that way to you, too?
I have NC 20/25 skin (light with yellow undertones). I only did one layer of Growing Trend and didn’t have any problems with the way it looked on the lips. It went on smoothly.
I don’t remember what Ever Hip looked like back with Liberty, to be honest. I didn’t get it with that collection.
Yay, skintone twins! Oh, now I do remember, I think you told me that when I posted what skintone I am!
I just love how Ever Hip looks on your lips! Want to have it! 🙂
Thanks for this great review!
You’re welcome. 🙂
