This review covers MAC’s 5 MAC Me Over eye shadows.
- Creamy Bisque (frost): Mid-tone ivory with pearlized pigments (Limited Edition)
- Moleskin (matte): Nude brown (Limited Edition)
- Outre (matte): Mid-tone mustard (Limited Edition)
- Mythical (veluxe pearl): Frosty copper red (Limited Edition)
- Carbonized (veluxe pearl): Frosty dark brown (Limited Edition)
These shadows come in standard MAC packaging. The compacts are plastic and come with snap-shut, flip-up tops.
There is a mix of matte and frosty finishes, but all of the colors are neutral and are suitable for a wide range of skin tones.
The two matte formulas–Moleskin and Outre–have surprisingly decent pigmentation. MAC’s matte formulas are usually disappointing. Creamy Bisque is a good, solid highlight color. Moleskin is a perfect crease color. Mythical is a red-toned, frosty brown that could be used for a smoky eye. Carbonized is a frosty, darker brown good for everyday wear or a smoky eye.
I think the most difficult color to wear will be Outre because, while it is also a brown, neutral color, it leans strongly yellow. It may suit warm skin tones, but I don’t think it would work well with pale, cool skin tones.
Ease of Use: 9.25/10
These colors apply fairly smoothly. Use 2 or more layers to intensify the color.
These are the same size (1.5 g) as regular MAC shadows. You may notice the slight price increase from $14.50, which was the previous price.
