Permanent
Release Date: August 25, 2011
Availability: MAC online & MAC stores
This review covers MAC’s 2 MAC Me Over lip pencils.
- Spice: Pink cinnamon stick (Permanent)
- Chestnut: Intense brown (Permanent)
Packaging: 9/10
These are pencil liners that you sharpen down and that have simple, slide-on caps.
Quality: 8.5/10
These liners are soft and apply easily. Both colors are strong and opaque. Spice is a dark mauve color and Chestnut is basically brown. I think it’ll be difficult to wear these colors if you’re light-skinned, and even darker skin tones will have a hard time pulling off brown on their lips.
The liners are not particularly long-wearing, so set them with a lipstick and make sure to avoid smudging.
Ease of Use: 9.25/10
Because of the soft formula, these lip liners apply easily and smoothly.
Price: 8.5/10
These are the same size (1.45 g) as regular MAC lip pencils and cost $14.00 each.
I have at least medium-pigmented lips with some reddish brown in them, and those just look way too dark and brown for me. I’d like to see it on someone who is NC/NW 35 or 40 or darker though!
