Review & Swatches: MAC Me Over (Part II) Fluidlines

MAC Me Over Fluidlines

Limited Edition
Release Date: August 25, 2011
Availability: MAC online & MAC stores

This review covers MAC’s 4 MAC Me Over fluidlines.

  • Dark Diversion: Darkened plum (Limited Edition, Repromote)
  • Avenue: Charcoal black with gold pearlized pigments (Limited Edition)
  • Midnight Blues: Blackened blue (Limited Edition)
  • Dark Envy: Blackened green (Limited Edition)

Packaging: 9/10

Fluidlines come in small glass jars with plastic twist-off lids. Keep the lids closed tightly to prevent the gels from drying out.

Quality: 9.5/10

MAC’s Fluidline gel liners are some of the best you can find. The formula is creamy, soft, and smooth. All four of these colors have great pigmentation.

These colors are perfect for both everyday wear or a more bold look. The colors aren’t so bright or unusual that you couldn’t use them as a thin liner during the day, but are different enough from your average black or brown to allow you to change it up.

Fluidlines aren’t waterproof or completely smudge-proof, but for most purposes will last all day without smudging or flaking.

Ease of Use: 9.75/10

The formula makes application hassle-free. Use a stiff, thin brush.

Price: 9/10

Fluidlines are 3 g and cost $15.00 each.

  1. Lisa B. says:

I think Avenue is my favorite too. The deep purply-red of Dark Diversion is interesting though not a color I’d be comfortable with. The only reason I’ve never tried a fluidline before is that I’m afraid they’ll dry up before I even get halfway through one, even if I screw the lid on tight…I really really wish they would make these smaller (with a smaller price, of course, though it’s more likely they’d keep the price the same if they ever do make them smaller *sigh*). Wouldn’t a mini fluidline set be great?

  2. Excellent review and breakdown! Loved the swatches too. I’ve bought 3 of the 4 and am so tempted to get the last one (Avenue) as well. 😀
