Review & Swatches: MAC Semi-Precious Mineralize Blushes

MAC Semi-Precious Mineralize Skinfinishes

This review covers MAC’s 3 Semi-Precious Mineralize Blushes.

  • Feeling Flush: melange of pink, deep blue-pink, soft brown (limited edition)
  • Warmth of Coral: melange of peach and coral (limited edition)
  • Pressed Amber: melange of nude, beige, brown (limited edition)

Please see this post and YouTube video for more photos and swatches of these lipsticks.

Packaging: 9/10

These blushes come in standard MAC packaging. The compacts are plastic and have flip-up, snap-shut lids.

Quality: 9.5/10

These mineralize blushes are great. The formulation makes the powder soft, smooth, and apply evenly. The pigmentation is also very good. Although the blushes don’t have any shimmers in them, they aren’t completely matte and give a nice, natural/sheen finish.

Ease of Use: 9.5/10

Because the formulation is smooth, application is easy and the colors go on evenly, giving strong color to the skin.

Price: 7.5/10

These blushes cost $23.00 and contain 3.2 g each. Regular powder blushes are $19.50 and contain 6 g of product each. It’s typical for mineralize products to be slightly more, but to have such a large discrepancy between price and product size isn’t justified.

Thanks for not just swatching them (as other bloggers often do) but for actually applying the colors. Seeing something on your face is much better than someone’s forearm. These colors look really soft and natural.

  2. malkatz says:

Wow… Pressed Amber just looks like dirt. Noted.
I LOVE Feeling Flush, though! Was afraid the brown would make it too dark for my pale complexion.

  3. Bachuchay says:

Kudos for the review.. i love how you illustrate the outcome.. like the Feeling Flush, Warmth of Coral, Pressed Amber Swatched (Blended)

  4. Soesje200 says:

thanks for the review! I have never payed attention to the amount of product in th blushes, I just thought it was the same…

  5. Lisa B. says:

A dimensional finish without shimmer? That’s GREAT! Yeah, the price isn’t justified, but its SO TEMPTING! 🙂
I like Warmth of Coral best (and that was also my pick pre-release…I must be learning!); did you have to sheer it out a lot to get the cheek application? Or did you use a very small amount of product/really light hand? What kind of brush did you use?
When you contour, how/where do you usually do it?

  6. Naj says:

I really like how you categorise the factors for the products. And i also love how these blushes look but I feel like they won’t show up on me. Are the colours buildable and how long do they last on you?

  7. Margarit says:

I want to try the coral blush and the MSF’s from this collection.

  8. AJCiti says:

I think the colours are pretty, not spectacular but it’s a nice collection. I entered the contest to win the collection, I hope I win!
