Packaging: 9/10

These pigments come in stacks that twist to reveal each individual jar. You can stack them in pairs or all 4 together.

Quality: 9.75/10

All the colors included in these stacks are metallic. Crushed Metallic Pigments are also the most intensely pigmented shadows you can get from MAC. You need only a tiny amount to get a shimmery, opaque finish.

The consistency is soft and almost “melts” as you apply it. The pigments apply smoothly and have great staying power.

Ease of Use: 9.25/10

Crushed Metallic Pigments apply evenly, can be applied wet or dry, and with either your finger or a brush. You will get fallout, so I’d suggest applying these before putting on foundation or finishing powder.

Price: 9.5/10

Each stack is $32.50 and contains 12 g of product. You’re getting 4 different shadow colors, and given that regular MAC pigments are $19.50 each with only 4.5 g of product, the Crushed Metallic Pigments are a great value.

These are gorgeouse photos. Any tips on application, did you apply these dry or wet? I want to get into using more pigments but I’ve heard/read they are a bit more difficult to work with and using MAC’s water based mixing medium helps with staying power.

  2. Hannah H. says:

the Aquamarine color is soooo gorgeous *.*

  3. Elena T says:

These pigments are amazing! I think these are perfect for a summer look or for a more glamorous one!

  4. Sarah Q says:

Summer Stash looks GORGEOUS, but I don’t think I’d use the pink or brown one, even though they are amazing.

  5. Sublim says:

    Amazing shine! I´d loooove these!:D

  6. Lisa B. says:

Ooh…those are REALLY pretty and metallic–do you know how Titanium compares to any other MAC pigments (Softwashed, Softwash Grey, Silver, Silver Fog, etc.)?

    • Allura says:

Well, the formulation is different. The Crushed Metallic Pigments glide on almost like they’re a cream. Titanium is lighter and smoother than Softwashed and more metallic than Softwash Grey or Silver Fog.

Oh my goodness, Summer Stash looks AMAZING! The colors appear so pretty and I am a sucker for neutral colors. Thank you for the close-up pictures—just gorgeous! I have such a problem deciding too. Pffff!
