Cheek Duo: 9.25/10
The blush comes in a reflective, black compact. It has a flip-up lid that snaps shut and has a mirror inside.
Photo Op Under Eye Brightener: 9.25/10
This eye brightener comes in a tube and has a wand with a brush applicator.
Photo Finish Luminizing Primer: 9/10
This primer comes in a travel-sized, plastic squeeze-tube.
Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss: 8.25/10
This gloss comes in a squeeze tube and has a plastic, slanted applicator.
Lip Enhancing Gloss in Tempt: 9/10
This gloss comes in a solid, rectangular tube and has a doe-foot applicator.
Cheek Duo: 9.25/10
This blush comes in two colors. One side is a peachy pink and the other is a darker, rosy pink. Both colors have tiny micro-shimmers in them, but the shimmers don’t show up on the face.
The blush duo looks unassuming in the pan, so I wasn’t expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the finish and color is on the skin.
Photo Op Under Eye Brightener: 7.5/10
This eye brightener is very liquidy, which is a good thing because it provides moisture to the dry under-eye area. The product “brightens” the eye area with small golden shimmers–it doesn’t change or lighten the color of the under-eye area. This product isn’t really effective if used alone. You’ll have to use it in conjunction with an under-eye concealer.
Photo Finish Luminizing Primer: 8.25/10
This primer gives your face a very subtle sheen, which is good because you don’t want to look glittery all over your face. On the other hand, the subtlety of the finish means the effect won’t show through if you put liquid foundation on top. It may show through if you just dust translucent powder on top or a thin layer of powder foundation.
Some people don’t like the slippery feel of silicon-based primers. And while this luminizing primer is silicon-based, it doesn’t feel as slippery as the regular Smashbox face primer.
Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss: 8.5/10
This gloss is clear with white glitters. The glitters are small and don’t feel gritty. The formula is on the thicker side, but is not sticky.
Lip Enhancing Gloss in Tempt: 9.5/10
This gloss shows up on the lips as a beautiful, natural pink color and has tiny golden shimmers in it. The color looks dark in the tube, but it applies sheer, giving a beautiful color to the lips. The shimmers are small and don’t feel gritty. The formula is on the thicker side, but is not sticky.
Cheek Duo: 8.5/10
These colors apply pretty well. With the lighter side, you’ll have to apply a few layers to build up the color.
Photo Op Under Eye Brightener: 8/10
At first, I tried applying this on top of my concealer. Because it’s so liquidy, it wiped away the concealer underneath. The only way to really wear this product is to mix it in with your liquid concealer before applying it or to put it on underneath powder concealer.
Photo Finish Luminizing Primer: 9.5/10
This primer applies smoothly. Just squeeze out a pea-sized amount and that should be enough to cover your face.
Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss: 9/10
This gloss is a little thick and the plastic applicator isn’t the best for application. But it’s a clear lip gloss, so you don’t need precise application.
Lip Enhancing Gloss in Tempt: 9.25/10
This gloss is slightly thick in consistency, but the doe-foot applicator makes application precise and simple.
You get 8 items in this set (1 of which is travel-sized) for $68. Based on the cost of the items separately, Smashbox says the value of this set is $190. Although a couple of the items aren’t must-haves, there are several great products in the set and $68 is a very reasonable price to pay for them.
