The Blink of an Eye Set is a limited-edition Sonia Kashuk set that is currently available on target.com and in Target stores. This set costs $12.99 and includes a Gold and Silver Shimmering Creme Shadow and a Metallic Eye Definer.
This set of three eye shades includes two sparkling crème eye shadow pencils in shimmery silver and gold and a slim eye liner in metallic brown. These easy-to-apply pencils glide on smoothly, highlight and define eyes in a flash.
All of these items come in pencil form. The Creme Shadows look similar to NYX Jumbo Pencils while the Metallic Eye Definer looks like a typical eye liner. None of these comes with a sharpener.
Both the Creme Shadows are shimmery. The Silver pencil has quite chunky glitters and wasn’t opaque on the skin. I found the finish slightly unflattering. The Gold color was much better. It had finer shimmers and a more obvious color.
Both of the Creme Shadows resist creasing with a primer underneath. Without a primer, the shadow will start to crease after 1-2 hours.
The Metallic Eye Definers is a medium brown color with a subtle shimmery finish. It glides on nicely, but transfers easily (as you can see in the photo). You have to let it dry before blinking or applying any further makeup. After it dries, it stays on the skin without transferring.
Ease of Use: 8.5/10
The Silver Creme Shadow applies unevenly because of the large chunks of glitter. You also have to be careful to not apply too much pressure because the tip will crumble if you press too hard. The Gold one applied much more smoothly and evenly. The liner glides smoothly, but you have to let it set so that it doesn’t transfer.
Each Creme Shadow is 2.4 g and the Metallic Eye Definer is 1.2 g. $13.00 for 3 items is a decent price. But Sonia Kashuk products are usually more impressive than the ones in this set, so you aren’t getting the full value you normally would.
