Made with pure oils, the IF Roll On is soft and beautiful on the skin. With a sleek shape and durable bottle, the IF Roll On is perfect to keep on you at all times. A dazzling bouquet of white flowers, IF blooms with top notes of zesty grapefruit and sparkling yuzu, ending in a deep romantic drydown.
IF–Apothia’s signature fragrance–is described by the company as a “hip, fashionable and elegant” scent that is “fresh, clean, light, and sensual.” See below for photos and my thoughts on the fragrance.
IF Roll-On Pure Oil comes in an off-white bottle made of rubbery plastic that pinches slightly in the middle. It comes with a twist-off cap that, when removed, reveals a roller-ball applicator.
This packaging is sleek, small, durable, and travel-friendly.
This is a heavily flower-scented fragrance, so if flowers are not your thing, this isn’t the perfume for you. If flowers are your fancy, you might enjoy this item.
Apothia describes IF as having top notes of zesty grapefruit and sparkling yuzu, and ending in a deep romantic drydown. I agree that after a few minutes, the fragrance develops a more musky and “romantic” feel. For top notes, I don’t get a strong scent of grapefruit or yuzu. Instead, I smell almost exclusively flowers, gardenia being the most prominent. The floral scent predominates throughout the fragrance’s wear. I do wish there were a stronger scent of grapefruit and yuzu to balance out the floral scent and provide more dimension.
Because this comes in oil form, the scent is longer-wearing than it would be in spray form. The scent stays strong for a good 3-4 hours, and fades slowly and gradually throughout the day. Even though it is an oil, it does not leave a greasy feel to the skin.
Ease of Use 10/10
You can apply this fragrance in precise locations because of its rollerball form. I usually dab a bit behind the ears and on the inner wrists. The packaging makes the fragrance glide on effortlessly, letting you apply and run out the door without any fuss.
For $58.00, you get 9 ml (0.3 fl oz) of fragrance. Marc Jacob’s Daisy rollerball is $20.00 for 0.24 fl oz while 21 Drops’ Essential Oil Rollerball is $29.00 for 0.25 fl oz. Even accounting for the difference in size and the fact that Apothia specializes in fragrances (unlike most other perfume brands), you’re still paying significantly more for the amount of product you get.
