This review is for one of e.l.f.’s new Studio-line brushes–the Flawless Concealer Brush. Keep reading to see images and my thoughts on this brush!
All of e.l.f.’s Studio brushes are designed with black handles and plastic ferrules. The Flawless Concealer Brush has a long, thin handle made of wood that is attached by an equally narrow, cylindrical, plastic ferrule to a small, domed brush. The brush is made of synthetic, black bristles that span approximately 1 cm across. The brush is fairly dense but still quite soft due to the synthetic bristles.
This brush can be used to apply powders, liquids, gels, and creams. The application you get will be quite concentrated due to the brush’s small size and dense distribution of bristles.
Though it’s called a concealer brush, I would be careful when using it to cover spots with powder because of the concentrated application. Apply powders lightly and build up gradually to avoid over-applying. With creams, the brush buffs out the product effectively, so you don’t have to be as worried about dense application.
I’ve used this brush to apply concealing/highlighting powder under the eyes, to apply highlighter to the cheekbones and down the nose, to cover blemishes or dark pigmentation, and even to buff out contour colors in the crease. Of these possible uses, I’ve found that this brush works best for applying cream or liquid highlighter: the brush covers a small, precise area and blends out liquids nicely.
I don’t have any problems with the bristles bleeding dye or shedding during application or washing. And for $3.00, you’re getting a fantastic deal.
