Our handy and easy to use Kabuki Brushes provide a light to full coverage on your face or body to ensure a flawless finish. The compact brush is perfectly sized to allow for precise and controlled application of bronzer, powder, or a highlighter on your skin.
This review is for the Kabuki Face Brush from e.l.f.’s Studio line. This is a synthetic-bristle, vegan-friendly brush that can be used to apply powder on the face and neck.
This brush comes with a metal handle that simultaneously acts as the brush’s ferrule. The base is fairly durable, but I wish it were a bit longer so that it were easier to hold.
This kabuki brush works wonderfully for pressed and loose powder application. I have used it for all-over setting powder, powder foundation, bronzing, applying blush, buffing out powder that was too heavily applied, and to brush away fall-out.
The brush is not only versatile, but unbelievably soft. I’ve had numerous clients comment how soft the bristles felt on their skin. The bristles aren’t stiff at all and don’t seem to fray or bend with time.
The brush does take a while to dry after washing, mostly because it has synthetic bristles and lots of them. You may also see some of the black dye seep out of the bristles when washing the brush, but the dye has never transferred onto the skin when I’ve used it dry. Although e.l.f. states you can use this brush with wet products, I would suggest keeping its use to dry powders.
Ease of Use: 9.8/10
This brush is versatile, simple to use, and feels good on the skin. As I mentioned above, my only minor criticism is that the handle could be longer.
For $6.00, you get a wonderfully soft, high-quality brush. When it comes to a kabuki brush (which is normally a more expensive type of brush) you can’t find a better deal.
