Review & Swatches: Alverde Powder Blush in “Pastel Rose”

Alverde Powder Blush in Pastel Rose

Availability: DM Drugstores (Europe)
Price: 2.95 Eur / $3.50 (Approx)

Alverde is a natural makeup and skincare brand available in certain European countries like Germany, Serbia, Austria, and Hungary. From what I can tell, it’s a drugstore brand. This review is for Alverde’s Powder Blush in 05 Pastel Rose (Puderrouge 05 Pastell Rose)–a soft, slightly shimmery mauve-rose color.

Pastel Rose is a light, mauve-rose color. It appears lighter on the cheeks once the powder is blended out than the color you see in the pan. The powder has small shimmer particles that aren’t individually noticeable on the cheeks, but instead give the color a slight iridescence. I like this color a lot because it’s very easy to wear and I think it would match a wide range of light-to-medium skin tones.

This color is a little lacking in pigmentation, and the powder is slightly stiff in the pan, so I find that I add an extra layer on the skin when using this blush.

I feel guilty confessing that I also really like the way this blush smells (I often advocate against makeup products having scents). It has a comforting scent that I don’t know how to describe. I was surprised to see no fragrance added in the ingredients list, but since Alverde is a natural cosmetics brand, I guess this makes sense. As you probably know, fragrance in cosmetic and skincare products is a no-no. (Side-note: Don’t be fooled by claims of “natural fragrances” being added to your makeup products. A fragrance being “natural” doesn’t mean it is less irritating to the skin than a synthetic fragrance!) I assume the smell comes from the mixture of different oils contained in the ingredients.

This color keeps its pigmentation throughout the day. Application is pretty straight-forward, with the powder applying evenly.

This powder costs around 3 Euros, which translates to about $3.50, for which you get 4.7 grams of product. If this line were available in the U.S. or Canada, I think it would be a pretty popular drugstore brand.

  1. Beautiful blush! Wish I could get this brand here in the US! It looks very similar to Tarte’s Blushing Bride that I just got for Christmas. Gorgeous! <3

I have used this blush for years, it was my favorite blush before I discovered MAC and High End cosmetics. I like the scent too!
You must try their baked eyeshadows if you can, they are amazing quality. Very pigmented and stay put all day. The best drugstore product ever to me!
Love the idea of reviewing international brands.
