Annabelle is a Canadian drugstore makeup brand. Its line of Mineral Pigment Dusts includes 7 colors. The colors Chiffon, Cool Mint, and Azure are reviewed here.
These Pigment Dusts come in round, plastic jars with flip-up lids and a small opening in the center of the lid where you can access the product.
Chiffon is a pale yellow. Cool Mint is a pale mint green. Azure is a pale sky blue.
These are loose pigments, all with shimmery finishes. When swatched dry, the colors are sorely lacking in vibrancy. Cool Mint appears particularly lacking in strong green color. Swatched wet, the vibrancy and color are considerably better, though it still takes layering to get a consistent surface.
Ease of Use: 8.25/10
Used dry, these pigments apply smoothly, but no amount of layering seems to make the color vibrant. Used wet, you will get a much more vibrant color, but still need to layer.
For $8.50, you get 2.5 grams (0.08 ounces) of pigment. By comparison, a MAC pigment costs $20.00 and contains 4.5 grams (0.15 ounces). You’re paying about $1 more for each gram of MAC pigment, but it should be noted that MAC is a “high-end” brand while Annabelle is a “drugstore” brand, so the price difference is actually not as wide as I’d expect.
