Luminous and water-light, this sheer liquid achieves a lustrous radiance with ultra-fine, light-reflecting particles that subtly highlight the face and diffuse uneven tone. Broad-spectrum sun protection and antioxidants keep skin looking fresh, young, and healthy.
One of Becca’s most well-known items is the Shimmering Skin Perfector. It is a liquid luminizer that also contains sun protecting ingredients. This product comes in six (6) shades. This review is for the newest shade–Moonstone–which is a pale gold color.
This product comes in a cylindrical bottle. The bottle comes with a pull-off cap and a pump, which keeps the product inside sanitary.
Moonstone is a translucent nude color with infinitely small, round opalescent particles. Once this product is on your skin, it doesn’t really impart any color, so it can be paired with just about any other color.
The formula is a thin cream that isn’t watery. It applies to the skin the way a face moisturizer would. This is a fantastic overall luminizer that you can apply before putting on your foundation or mix with your foundation to give your skin a bit of brightness. Alternatively you can use it as a highlighter on specific areas of your face. Either way, the effect is very natural and subtle, so if you’re looking for something more dramatic, you should opt for a different product.
I would give this item a higher Quality score except for two (2) negatives. First, the Shimmering Skin Perfector contains Alcohol Denat. in the ingredients–an ingredient harmful to your skin. Second, it contains Fragrance in the ingredients–another ingredient that irritates and damages the skin.
It also won’t do anything to even out your skin tone, as the company claims. But it does contain effective sun protecting ingredients that block rays that cause aging of the skin.
Ease of Use: 10/10
Applying this product is fool-proof. It blends effortlessly and sinks into the skin without showing any streaks. You can apply it any way–with your fingers, brush, sponge, etc.
For $41.00 you get 1.7 fl. oz (50 ml) of product. Guerlain’s Terracotta Blush Sun Shimmer Highlighter costs the same amount but contains much less: 0.5 fl. oz (15 ml) of product. Clinique’s High Beam costs $26.00 and contains 0.45 fl. oz. (13.3 ml). The massive amount of product you get with the Shimmering Skin Perfector makes it a far better deal compared to other liquid highlighters.
