Each palette comes with 5 shades. This review is for the palette in Tango, which includes a cream, stone, light khaki, dark khaki, and dark brown red color.
Packaging: 9.25/10
Buxom’s Color Choreography Eyeshadow palettes come in square compacts that include a full-sized mirror. The material consists of thick, black plastic.
Quality: 9.75/10
The formula for all of the 5 shades in the Tango palette are soft and smooth. The pigmentation is great for each color too.
I like that this palette includes both high-quality shimmery and high-quality matte colors. This allows you to create an eye look without having to reach for another palette or shadow.
But I don’t particularly like these colors matched together. I created an eye look using all 5 colors, and the combination just seemed off. In particular, I didn’t feel the shade Dip matched with the other 4 colors, even though it looks like it should in the pan.
These shadows do surprisingly well even without a primer underneath. I feel that almost all eye shadows, even high-quality ones, need a primer underneath to prevent creasing long-term. But these shadows didn’t crease until the 4th or 5th hour when applied to the bare skin. With primer, they last at least 8 hours without creasing.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
The soft formula applies smoothly and evenly on the lids. I did find myself applying multiple layers of a couple of the colors because they faded during the blending application more than I liked.
Price: 8.5/10
For $36.00 you get 5 shades for a total of 7.5 grams. This is a less-than-average amount of product for this price-point.
This palette really appeals to me, especially the shade “Embrace.” I like the way that particular shade looks alongside the greys in the pan but I imagine it would be a little tricky to use them all in a look as you said.
Thanks for the swatches and review!
