A nourishing tinted lip balm halfway between sheer and opaque. Soften lips with a cushion of color that’s not quite sheer, not quite opaque—but something perfectly in between. This moisturizing balm is loaded with mango and shea butters to make dry, delicate lips feel comfortably soft and smooth.
Clinique’s new Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms are a more pigmented version of their well-known Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms. The Intense version comes in eight (8) shades. This review is for the shade Roomiest Rose, which is a watermelon rose color.
This lip balm comes in a plastic tube shaped like a jumbo pencil. The base twists to push up the product inside so that you don’t have to sharpen it.
Roomiest Rose is a soft ruby color. It is nearly opaque without covering the natural texture of your lips.
The formula for this balm is emollient and makes the lips feel soft. But I didn’t find that the balm was actually all that moisturizing.
The color also traveled and bled outside of the are where I initially applied it. Avoid rubbing your lips together while wearing this lip product.
The color leaves a slight stain behind after wearing for two (2) to three (3) hours.
I didn’t feel or smell any minty or menthol-like quality to this balm.
Ovearll, I like this Chubby Stick Intense, but I think Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains do an even better job for a much more affordable price.
Ease of Use: 9/10
This balm glides across the skin pretty easily. You’ll need to apply slowly at the edges of the lips since the color is strong.
For $16.00 you get 0.1 ounce of product, which is a great price point for a brand like Clinique and compared to other lip tints sold at Sephora.
