Company’s Description

These lightly dusted shimmer sheets create a gorgeous, healthy glow on the apples of the cheeks, décolleté, or anywhere you desire. Perfect for on-the-go shimmer and applying color instantly without the mess and hassle of carrying around a brush. Simply sweep a single Shimmer Sheet over the desired area for an instant dust of beautiful color. 20 sheets included.

Eyes Lips Face (aka e.l.f.) offers Shimmer Sheets, which are thin pieces of tissue paper with color on them that can be applied to the skin without using a brush. They come in 4 shades. The shade Pink is reviewed, below.

Packaging: 8.5/10

These sheets come in envelope-type packaging made of thick paper. The packaging is very light-weight, but will fall apart over time if you’re taking these on-the-go.

Quality: 8/10

Pink, despite its simplistic name, is quite a unique and intricate color. The base color is a shimmery, slightly purple pink that has a soft purple duo-chrome. Very few blushes on the market have a duo-chrome effect so I am surprised that e.l.f. has this color in their line.

The color itself is long-wearing. I didn’t see any fading throughout the day.

But the sheet form doesn’t work very well for application. The color applies unevenly, leaving areas where there isn’t as much color. This creates a blotchy effect that is noticeable because the color itself is quite pigmented.

Ease of Use: 7.5/10

Although having the powder come in sheet form does make this blush convenient for traveling, it doesn’t work as easily as application with a brush.

You press the sheet onto the skin where you want color. But the color transfers unevenly, so I ended up using a brush anyway to try to blend the color and even out the finish. But the powder resists blending, so even after going over the cheeks with a powder brush several times, the color was still splotchy.

Price: 8.5/10

For $3.00 you get 20 sheets in each packet. A single sheet has enough color on it for both cheeks, so you’ll get 20 uses out of a packet. Even though $3.00 sounds like a great deal for blush, you get only a handful of uses. On the other hand, you get the benefit of something travel-friendly.

I have these but i never grab for them… too much hassle for an ‘on the go’ product.

I do LOVE the color. Too bad they couldn’t make this color in a pan like a powder blush for easier application/blending….dang!

  3. Lisa B. says:

The duochrome is pretty, but I’ve never had much luck with sheet-type products.
