The soft and shimmering color of our Baked Blush creates a natural healthy glow. Baked in an oven, these blushes offer rich pigmentation for a beautiful effect. The long-lasting formula provides a gorgeous, smooth and even application. Infused with active key ingredients Jojoba, Rose, Sunflower, Apricot and Grape to nourish and hydrate the skin. Apply this shimmering color dry for sheer pigmentation, or use a damp brush or sponge for a more vibrant effect.
e.l.f.’s four (4) new baked blushes are part of the company’s Studio line. These blushes are said to give your cheeks a healthy glow with rich pigmentation. This review is specifically for the shade Peachy Cheeky–a shimmering peach with bronze veining.
This blush comes in a small, plastic, domed compact with a clear, flip-up lid.
Peachy Cheeky is a faintly-pigmented peach shade. Even three (3) healthy layers of the color bring out mostly shimmer and just a hint of peach. Applied dry, this product is definitely more suitable as a highlighter to pair with a more noticeable blush, or as a shimmery cheek color if you desire barely-there color. The only way to get a medium level of peach color from the blush is to apply it with a damp brush. The drawback of this kind of application, though, is that it intensifies the shimmer as much as it intensifies the peach color, if not more. So your only option if you want a noticeable peach tint is to also have extremely shimmery cheeks.
The powder itself is smooth and, while not that buttery to the touch, applies very evenly across the skin. It imparts a healthy dose of shimmer when applied dry, and a very strong level of shimmer when applied wet.
I didn’t have any problems with the sheen effect fading through the day.
If e.l.f. marketed the Baked Blush as a highlighter, this product would score very well. But its claim that Peachy Cheeky offers “rich pigmentation” is somewhat misleading.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
The powder applies over the skin smoothly and blends out nicely when applied dry. But if you want a noticeable peach color, you’ll need to apply multiple layers. When using this powder wet, you’ll need to use a little more pressure and do a little more blending to get the color to be even.
For $3.00 you get 0.21 ounces (6 grams) of product. This is a great price given how much blush you get.
