The soft sheer texture blends into the skin for a silky finish. Designed to be worn alone or layered for more depth. Highlight your complexion with a subtle healthy glow!
Eyes Lips Face (aka “e.l.f.”) currently offers 11 shades in its Studio Blush line. The color in Twinkle Pink is reviewed here.
Packaging: 9/10
Studio Blushes come in matte, black, plastic compacts with snap-shut lids that have a small, clear window in them to allow you to see the color inside. There is also a thin mirror on the inside of the lid.
Quality: 8.8/10
Twinkle Pink is a bright, blue-based bubblegum pink with fairly large silver glitters. The glitters don’t adhere very well to the skin. Some of them will stay put to give the blush a sparkle, but many of them will fall off from the skin.
The formulation is very slightly powdery. The pigmentation and color payoff is strong. You will get a bright effect on the cheeks without using much product.
The staying power of this blush is also good. It’s not extra long-wearing like Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blushes, but lasts throughout the day for normal wear–at least 6 hours before fading.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
Because the formula isn’t too powdery and the pigmentation is strong, you can pick up this color with a fluffy brush and apply without having to build up the color in layers.
Price: 10/10
For $3.00, you get 4.75 grams (0.17 ounces) of blush. Even compared to other drugstore-brand blushes, you get a great deal for your money.
I love these blushes and they are a steal… I’ll place an elf order soon
I tried one the e.l.f. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder, and it was quite nice, maybe a bit patchy–nothing a bit of extra blending and time couldn’t fix, though…for $3 I’ll spend the extra time.
Looks very similar to NARS (with a tad more product, even!)…I do rather like having a mirror–and unlike NARS, the cases aren’t made of that faintly rubbery stuff that gets dirty and fades (and I’ve heard NARS blush cases get sticky in humid/warm climates).
Oh, AND I apparently didn’t read/look closely enough, since now I see there’s a window in the top too, so you can have a mirror AND see what color it is! That’s just excellent!
