Line, shade and contour your eyes with this ultra pigmented and creaseless cream shadow. Easy to blend for layering and building color. The silky smooth and smudge-proof formula provides long lasting color for a beautiful look all day.
Eyes Lips Face currently offers 9 shades of their Studio-line cream eye shadows. Some of the newer shades–Purple Pleaser, Smoke, Pewter, and Natural Glow–are reviewed below.
This is the same packaging as for e.l.f’s Studio Cream Blushes. The shadows come in large plastic jars with black, screw-on tops.
Although sturdy, the packaging is also very big and bulky. This makes the jars heavy and impractical for traveling with. The jars are much larger than what is needed to house the amount of product inside. There is also no labeling on the jars except for a teeny, tiny circular sticker that has the color on it in even tinier font, making it extremely difficult to identify the color name.
Purple Pleaser is a light plum. Smoke is a metallic grey with a beautiful blue undertone. Pewter is a metallic grey with taupe undertones. Natural Glow is a medium champagne.
All of the colors have wonderful payoff and gorgeous metallic finishes. They are all opaque except for Purple Pleaser, which is nearly opaque.
The formula is smooth and creamy, gliding onto the skin effortlessly. They are also decently smudge-resistant: while the sheen on the top layer will smudge, the color underneath will persist for longer. If you aren’t one to touch your eyes throughout the day, you shouldn’t worry about any smudging.
I was pleasantly surprised at the level of crease-resistance also. I wore these on top of e.l.f.’s Essential Eyelid Primer, and had no creasing by the time I took the product off 6 hours later. If you don’t apply a primer underneath, you will see creasing sooner, after about 2-3 hours.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
Because the formula is creamy, these shadows glide onto the skin effortlessly without any tugging. They also blend out decently.
This product can easily be used as a cream liner too.
For $3.00 you get 0.35 ounces of cream eye shadow. This price is lower than any other drugstore cream eye shadow.
