The jumbo-sized Waterproof Eyeliner Crayon is perfect for creating bold, smoky eye looks. The waterproof, smudge-proof formula gives lasting color that stays put all day. Use as an eyeliner or blended out as an eyeshadow to create endless stunning eyes.
e.l.f. has recently added Waterproof Eyeliner Crayons to its Studio range, offering seven (7) different colors. This review is for the color Champagne–a shimmering nude.
This crayon comes in pencil form and conveniently twists at the base so that you don’t need to manually sharpen the tip.
I am utterly baffled by how unusable this eye product is. It looks normal–like countless other crayon-form, cream eye shadows or liners on the market.
But the formula is completely stiff inside the crayon. It took a lot of pressure and several swipes of the product to get it to show up on my arm for the purposes of swatching. Even after warming up the pencil in my hands, the color wouldn’t apply to my lids without an extreme amount of tugging at the lid, which I wasn’t comfortable doing (I love doing reviews for my readers, but I have my limits too!). It was like dragging a piece of plastic over my eyes.
I bought the shade Champagne in the hope of using it in the waterline too. But you will have zero luck using this product in the waterline or even lower lash-line.
Ease of Use: 1/10
This pencil is not suitable for use on the eyes. It would require basically melting the product first before applying it or applying way too much pressure on the lids and tugging at them to get the color to transfer. The only possible use for this product would be for highlighting down the center of the nose or under the brow bone, where you wouldn’t need to blend the color very much.
For $3.00 you get 0.07 ounces (2 grams of product). This is a great price for an eye pencil like this. I just wish you could actually use it!
