Company’s Description

Ellis has tested hundreds of eye shadows over the course of her career, and the moment she tried the formula of what has become ELLIS FAAS Creamy Eyes, she fell in love with its velvety texture. With its quick-drying properties and special blend of flower and coffee extracts, Creamy Eyes provides coverage without heaviness.

Ellis Faas has recently released 7 new shades of its Creamy Eyes–a cream eye shadow that comes in a bullet-like pen. This review is for the shade E116, which is a lilac purple with lighter purple micro-shimmers.

Packaging: 9.25/10

I give the Creamy Eyes packaging thumbs up for its nifty, unique packaging. The material is made of silver, metal-like plastic in a bullet-shaped pen. The bases twist to push product into the brush applicator.

But the applicator was stiff, and pressing the bristles only loosened them up slightly.

Quality: 10/10

The Creamy Eyes shadows have a thin, gel-cream formula. It spreads very easily over the lid and also layers effectively.

E116 is a pale purple color with micro-shimmers that don’t really show up on the skin. The color has strong pigmentation that keeps its strength through the blending process.

The fantastic part of this product is its longevity. I have tested it both over and without primer. Even without primer, the color only started to crease after 10 hours of wear! Over primer, the color still had not creased after hour 13. This is pretty mind-boggling for a thin gel-like product.

Ease of Use: 9.5/10

Creamy Eyes spread easily over the skin, can be blended out, and layered. My only criticism is that using the brush was less-than-ideal because of the stiff bristles.

Price: 6/10

For $36.00 you get 0.085 ounces of product. This is admittedly quite a small amount of product for the price.

I’ve heard that the brush applicator causes problems, maybe some from dried product on the bristles? I’ve been hesitant to try these for that reason…Would you be able to comment on that after you’ve had it for awhile, or after you’ve let it sit unused for awhile?

The bristles were stiff before I’d used any of the product. It’s still usable, but I just apply the color to my lids and then use an eyeshadow brush or my fingers to blend instead of the applicator.
