Eve Pearl is a 5-time Emmy Award winning makeup artist with her own extensive makeup line. The line carries several Eye Palettes, which include six (6) shades. This review is for the palette in Diamond Eyes, which includes shades of gold, brown, silver, and blue.
This eye palette comes in a sleek, rounded-square compact made of reflective-metal like plastic. It’s very thin and light-weight. It flips open to reveal a full-sized mirror inside. Unfortunately, the outside does easily get fingerprints on it.
All of the colors in this pallet are fabulously pigmented. The shadows are so rich that you barely need to tap your brush into the pan. And if you plan to use a shade in the crease, you actually need to be careful to pick up only a small amount of product and tap your brush off before putting it to the skin.
In general, the formula is soft and on the slightly crumbly side. I don’t have any issues with the formulation, except for the shades with larger glitter particles (the two (2) shades in the far left column). Those shades do produce a little bit of fall-out during the day. The rest of the shades, even if they look like they they’ll be chunky or gritty, aren’t.
The colors blend out smoothly and layer extremely effectively. The shadows in left-most column have the highest level of shimmer; the shadows in the middle column have a medium level of shimmer; the shadows in the right-most column have a very subtle shimmery finish.
I do find that these shadows crease a little faster than average: within two (2) hours without primer and around five (5) hours over primer.
Overall, the formula could be more fluid and the crease-resistance a little better. But when it comes to pigmentation, these are some of the best shadows out there.
Ease of Use: 9.25/10
The powder blends easily and the shades transfer readily. If anything, you have to be careful to pick up only a small amount of product on your brush. I’d highly recommend applying a primer first.
For $40.00 you get six (6) colors for a total of 7.2 grams (0.25 ounces) of product. This price-per-unit is typical for a brand like Eve Pearl.
