High-performance, easy to blend, ultra-pigmented — all you’ll ever need in a cream blush. Use on cheeks during cooler months to re-vitalize and nourish cheeks and create a healthy glow. Or, use anytime to give cheeks a youthful and flushed look with our variety of uplifting colors.
This review is for the 3 new Cream Illuminators releasing with FaceFront’s upcoming Paradise in Flight Collection. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:
- Defrosting: Light-toned icy pink with brilliant silver sparkle, complemented with subtle golden undertone
- I Need Fudge: Medium chocolate gold with metallic gold highlight
- Dulce De Leche: Caramel-Bronze with golden metallic sheen worked throughout
FaceFront’s Cream Illuminators come in standard plastic containers with twist-off lids. The lids are clear so that you can see the color inside.
In the pot, Defrosting is a deep, almost-Cherise pink with a plethora of silver shimmers. I Need Fudge is a deep, coffee brown with tons of gold shimmers. Dulce de Leche is a medium caramel brown with gold shimmers.
On the skin, Defrosting is a soft, rosy pink with a silver sheen. Dulce de Leche is a deep brown with a gold sheen that’s less shimmery than Defrosting’s finish. Dulce de Leche is a translucent tan color that has a finish similar to Vaseline, even though it has shimmers like the other 2 colors when in the jar.
These Cream Illuminators make wonderful highlighters. They blend into the skin and appear more natural than most powder highlighters. Each color has extremely finely-milled pearlized pigments, so the shimmery finish is never overwhelming or gaudy.
Defrosting works well in conjunction with red and pink blushes. Dulce de Leche is even more versatile because it’s transparent and almost clear in color when blended into the skin. You can use both Defrosting and Dulce de Leche on the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, on the cupid’s bow, or wherever else you want illumination. I Need Fudge is the least versatile. It would work with skin darker than the color itself, but otherwise wouldn’t be appropriate as a cheek highlighter.
FaceFront reformulated these illuminators for this collection. They are now smoother than before and apply with very consistent finishes. They will last throughout the day without fading, especially if you set them with powder.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
You can immediately tell that these Cream Illuminators are creamier to the touch than the previous formulation. This makes the product easy to pick up on a brush and blend on the skin. You can also effectively layer the product for a higher-shine finish.
Cream Illuminators cost $11.00 and contain 2.4 grams of product. Urban Decay’s Urbanglow Cream Highlights cost $24.00 and contain 4.82 grams. You get a little more for your money with FaceFront’s illuminators.
