Company’s Description

Mineralized Blush is a high-performance, sweat resistant, long-wearing, color-true formula that is fabulous enough for everyday use, but even better for professional make-up artistry. The finely milled loose powder is made from an imported genuine, Cruelty-Free Peace Silk Complex for a soft comfortable wear, while our high-color concentrates allow for use on all skin color types and tones.

This review is for the 2 new Mineralized Blushes releasing with FaceFront’s upcoming Paradise in Flight Collection. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:

  • Funfair: Light-toned blue/violet made slightly complex with a depth of orange and warm gold metallic and purple sparkle
  • Proper Peach: Warm, inviting coral/peach with pink undertone and golden metallic sheen

Packaging: 9/10

These powders come in plastic jars that have twist-off tops and sifters inside. The packaging is lightweight and the tops fit securely, making these good for putting in your makeup case.

Loose powders are inevitably more messy than pressed powders, but the holes in the sifters are the right size so that you don’t get too much powder going everywhere.

Quality: 8.25/10

In the jar, Funfair is a light orchid with silver shimmers. On the skin, Funfair is a pale pink with just a hint of purple and is jam-packed with silver shimmer.

In the jar, Proper Peach is a vibrant peach with gold shimmers. When doing the video for this collection (which will be posted in a few days), it looked like blending Proper Peach onto the skin made it lose most of its color. This was disappointing, since the color is so vibrant in the jar. But when I tested out the product and actually applied it to my cheeks, the color showed up much more prominently than it did in the swatch. At the same time, the strong orange color was very toned-down, making the color significantly more wearable.

Funfair would make a beautiful and strong highlighter, but I think it’s too shimmery to use all over the cheeks as an everyday blush. It could certainly be used for a nighttime look. The color is also quite light–another reason it works better as a highlighter.

The shimmers in both colors are finely-milled. The powder glides onto the skin and leaves an even finish.

The blush is long-wearing, lasting throughout the day (12 hours) without noticeable fading.

Ease of Use: 9.25/10

The powder formula applies effortlessly to the skin and blends out just as easily. You can layer both colors to intensify either the color or shimmer.

Be careful with Funfair. Like with the Artistic Pigments, the shimmers can travel and get on your hands as you’re handling the jar, so keep it away from matte products and wash your hands before continuing your makeup routine.

Price: 9.75/10

FaceFront’s Mineralized Blushes cost $15.00 and contain 9 grams of product. You are getting a ton of product for the price you’re paying. For comparison, Bare Escentuals blushes give you 0.85 g of product for $18. You are getting more than 10 times the amount of product and for less money.
