Buff on a gorgeous glow with this palette of weightless, creamy shimmers that instantly illuminate the skin. Enriched with rejuvenating evening primrose seed oil and nourishing meadowfoam seed oil, these satin lusters create a soft iridescence that makes the skin look like it’s glowing from within.
This review is for Fresh’s Satin Luster Face Palette which contains cream illuminators for the face in the following colors:
- China Pearl: white pearl
- Peach Butterfly: beige pearl
- Winter Rose: rose pearl
This palette comes in a light-weight, rectangular, plastic compact with a full-sized mirror inside. Each color is housed in its own circular well.
The highlighters in this palette give off an intense sheen without being gaudy. The sheen doesn’t come from individual, perceptible glitter particles, but rather from very finely-milled pearls mixed into the cream formula.
The consistency isn’t super-creamy or thin, but the product does blend easily over the skin and adheres well. The strength of the sheen lasts all day.
Each color is different enough to justify using them on different parts of the face. For me, since I have yellow-toned skin, I use Peach Butterfly (beige) for down the nose, China Pearl (white) for a more dramatic highlight in the inner corners of the eyes, and Winter Rose (pink) to go with my blush. At the same time, the pigmentation isn’t strong, so you could use the colors interchangeably.
If you have oily skin, I’d recommend skipping this palette. The cream formula mixed with the sheen can make skin look even oilier.
Ease of Use: 9/10
You can apply these with your fingers or with a brush. The cream formula does an ok job of transferring from the pan to the skin when you use a brush.
Make sure to apply these underneath powder foundation. If you are using liquid foundation, apply these afterward but before you apply blush.
For $45.00 you get 0.36 ounces of product. For comparison, Urban Decay’s Cream Highlighters cost $24.00 and contain 0.17 ounces. You’re getting more for your money with the 3 luminizers in the Fresh palette.
