An anti-aging Under Eye Primer that minimizes the appearance of imperfections by filling in fine lines while using light-reflective pigments to soften the appearance of wrinkles and dark circles.
This review is for glomineral’s Under Eye Primer, which the company says minimizes the appearance of fine lines and dark circles.
This primer comes in a plastic squeeze-tube with a narrow opening through which you dispense the product.
This primer applies clear and has a fairly thin, silky consistency. It feels like a cross between a gel and cream and doesn’t feel overly silicone-y.
In testing this product, I would apply it underneath one eye and not the other to determine what difference the primer would make. Then I would apply concealer under both eyes. Honestly, I did not see a big difference in the appearance of my under-eye area where I’d applied the primer. It didn’t seem like the product lightened under-eye darkness significantly more than just applying concealer, nor did it make the concealer look more smooth. I will note that I don’t yet have severe under-eye darkness or wrinkles, so you might be able to see more noticeable results if you do have these under-eye issues. I also didn’t see a noticeable difference in how long the concealer under my eyes lasted when using this primer.
Ultimately, it’s not that this is bad product. It just doesn’t seem to really do much, at least for someone who doesn’t have severe dark circles or wrinkling.
I do want to note, though, that I tried this product as an eye shadow primer, and it works quite well for that purpose. My shadows last an average of 7 hours over this product, which is a more-than-decent showing for any eye shadow primer.
Ease of Use: 10/10
The formula is easy to spread, sets quickly, and applies clear, which makes applicator pretty much fool-proof.
For $24.00 you get 0.4 fl oz (11.7 ml) of product. For comparison, Smashbox’s Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer costs $29.00 and contains 0.33 ounces.
