Party girls never take life too seriously. Life’s a beach, so celebrate in bold, trendy style. Our pigment-rich palette of vivid shades will turn any shrinking violet into a ravishing beauty. Bee the life of the party!
Honeybee Gardens is an organic/natural beauty company. This review is for the Party Girl palette–one of 3 eye shadow palettes currently being sold in the company’s cosmetics line. The palette comes with the following 4 colors:
- Velour: matte plum
- Mojito: matte green
- Cupcake: matte pink
- Shipwreck: matte blue
This palette comes in a fold-open box made of heavy paper material. The lid closes via a magnet. The packaging is very light-weight and recyclable, though could get crushed if traveled with.
All 4 colors are matte–a rarity when it comes to eye shadow palettes. So I applaud Honeybee Gardens for offering not only matte shades, but bright-colored matte shades at that.
The colors, though, are under-pigmented, giving only average color-payoff. The formula is also a little stiff and dusty, making the shadows apply unevenly and requiring you to layer in order to smooth out the finish. These are certainly colors you’d be better off applying over a colored base if you want to get a vibrant, opaque finish.
The palette comes with a duo-ended applicator, which a sponge tip on one end and a medium-stiff concealer-type brush on the other. The sponge applicator works like most and the flat brush gives a nice, thin line.
Ease of Use: 8.5/10
Using these shadows requires layering and packing the color onto the brush to build up the finish.
For $29.99 you get 4 colors for a total of 3.6 grams (0.12 ounces) of product. MAC quads are $38.00 and contain 5.6 grams of product. The Honeybee Gardens palette contains less product for the price you pay. In general, organic/natural products cost more.
