Company’s Description

Inspired by Laura Mercier’s cult classic Caviar Eye Liner, Caviar Stick Eye Colour is offered in a range of beautiful shades and in a creamy formula to provide endless options for a flawless smoky eye. Each convenient stick is long-wearing, transfer- and crease-resistant. The color glides onto lids and blends easily with a rich pigment payoff.

Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Colours are stick-form, cream eye shadows and are currently available in 10 different shades. This review is for the shade Cocoa–a chocolate brown with bronze pearl.

Packaging: 9/10

The Caviar Stick Eye Colours come in pencil form with plastic packaging. The tube twists to expose more product as you use it up. The caps snap on.

Quality: 10/10

Cocoa is a rich, deep, chocolate brown with subtle golden shimmer. You can control the strength of the color through blending and application of multiple layers. When used blended and in the crease, the shimmer does not show up; if you apply directly onto the lid in a dense layer, you can see the subtle presence of shimmer.

The formula is wonderfully creamy, gliding onto and over the skin without pulling or tugging at it. The formula also blends out effectively, though you have to do your blending soon after application, otherwise the shadow sets after several seconds.

I was most impressed by how crease-resistant this product is. Even without primer, the color did not show creasing until 6 hours after application. With a primer, I didn’t see any creasing until the very end of the day, after about 10 hours of application.

You can use this color as a stand-alone eye shadow, as a base for a powder shadow, or as a liner.

Ease of Use: 9.75/10

The creamy formula makes the color transfer onto the skin without skipping or applying too much pressure. You can simply drag the pencil across the lid and be done, or you can apply it into the crease and blend the color out with a blending brush. Make sure to blend right after putting the color down because after a few seconds, the color will set and not budge.

Price: 6/10

For $24.00 you receive 0.05 ounces of product. MUFE’s Aqua Shadows cost $20.00 and give you more product–0.14 ounces. Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil cost $20.00 and give you 1 ounce of product. NARS’ Soft Touch Shadow Pencils cost $24.00 and give you 0.14 ounces of product. Unfortunately, you get a very small amount of product for the price when compared to similar brands.

I love your website! This is my first time visiting and I am playing catch up with your reviews.
I just want to mention, for anyone who crosses this post, that the price is more like an 8/10 for me! I say this just because non of the other brands you mentioned stays on my eyes for more than 20 min without migrating!
So, just for anyone who has problems with the other brands mentioned, try this! I love it! Plus it’s a little less costly if you compare it to Trish McEvoy’s stick eyeshadow which costs $32.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and welcome!
The price score is taken in isolation of the quality. It’s based on the cost of the item compared to similar brands and the amount of product you get. The quality score is where I account for how long-wearing the product is. 🙂
