This review is for LORAC’s new PRO Palette, which includes 16 eye shadow shades (8 shimmery and 8 matte) and a mini Behind The Scenes Eye Primer.
This palette is made of heavy cardboard. It is very thin but durable and sleek. It closes via a magnet and contains a full-sized mirror inside.
This is probably the best palette I’ve ever used.
The formula for every single of the 16 shades is creamy and applies smoothly. The powder is not too chalky, crumbly, stiff, or dry. They don’t produce fall-out. The formula blends out wonderfully.
Every single color has great pigmentation, regardless of whether it’s a matte or shimmery formula. The matte shades apply evenly and the shimmer shades aren’t chunky or glittery.
I also was very impressed with how long these shadows lasted without primer underneath. There was only slight creasing after six (6) hours of wear without primer. There was slight creasing after ten (10) hours when applied over primer.
The Behind the Scenes Eye Primer is equally impressive. It keeps my shadows crease-free for noticeably longer than many other primers I regularly use, including Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance. LORAC’s Behind the Scenes Eye Primer is very close in consistency and quality to NARS’ Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.
Ease of Use: 10/10
These shades do not produce fall-out, don’t need to be layered to get the color to show, and blend out smoothly without losing their color.
For $42.00 you get 0.32 ounces (8.8 grams) of product, plus the mini eye primer. This is on the lower end of product size given the price-point.
