Colour Riche Le Gloss contains weightless moisturizers, Omega 3 and conditioning Vitamin E which leave lips soft and supple while shine extracts for the perfect glossy look.
L’Oreal’s Project Runway The Electric Fantasie Collection launched this month in drugstores. The collection includes four (4) shades of L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Le Gloss lipglosses. This review is for the shade The Queen’s Shine–a ruby magenta shade.
For images and swatches of all of the Le Gloss lipglosses in this collection, please see this post.
The Le Gloss lipglosses come in narrow, long, clear squeeze-tubes and have slanted applicators.
The Queen’s Shine is a deep red shade with red sparkles in the tube. But the gloss is translucent, so it ends up looking like a magenta pink on the lips instead of a deep red. The shimmer particles also don’t really show up. The color has great boldness, but it’s just not what you see in the tube.
The consistency of the gloss is neither thick nor thin. The gloss isn’t sticky at all. The formula is very emollient, protecting your lips and keeping them moisturized. The gloss also has a strong scent of vanilla frosting.
The gloss lasts for two (2) to three (3) hours depending on whether you are lightly eating/drinking or not. What’s great is that even after the gloss has completely worn off, this shade leaves a stain behind on the lips that lasts for at least another two (2) to three (3) hours, even with eating. If I’ve worn this shade for a nighttime look, a medium-strength pink stain on the lips will still be there the next morning.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
The slanted applicator is a little awkward to use because you’re not quite sure where the gloss will apply. This, mixed with the fact that this color is so strong makes for application that requires some preciseness and patience. Be very careful at the edges of the lips. You may want to apply with a brush for a smoother application.
For around $7.00 you get 0.4 fl oz of product. This is a little less product than average when it comes to drugstore lipglosses that come in squeeze-tube form.
