Modern, high-luxe compact too pretty not to show off, includes Bronzing Powder in Golden, Eye Shadows in Hearts-a-Flutter, Romance Me and Darkly Handsome and Lipsticks in Headturner and Barely Lit.
This review is for the All For Glamour Face Kit in Gorgeous Bronze, which releases with MAC’s Fabulousness/All For Glamour Collection.
This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:
- Hearts-a-flutter (Eyeshadow): Warm pink with silver pearl (Satin)
- Romance Me (Eyeshadow): Warm plum with gold pearl (Lustre)
- Shadowy Lady (Eyeshadow): Blackened plum (Matte)
- Golden (Bronzing Powder): Muted golden tan-beige with shimmer
- Barely Lit (Lipstick): Neutral pink with gold pearls (Lustre)
- Headturner (Lipstick): Mid-tone cool cream plum (Cremesheen)
The All For Glamour Face Kit comes in a rounded-rectangular compact that is decorated with a bow at the lid’s closure point. The top of the compact looks like a pillow and is squishy to the touch. The compact folds open to reveal a bronzing powder, three (3) eye shadow shades, and two (2) lipstick shades that are protected by a flip-up plastic piece. The compact is fairly light.
Hearts-a-flutter eye shadow is a light cream color with a slight sheen finish.
Romance Me eye shadow is a medium brown with a hint of plum running through it and a silvery sheen finish.
Shadowy Lady eye shadow is a very deep, matte purple with sparse silver shimmer particles in it.
The eye shadows are pretty good in this palette. I’m particularly impressed by Romance Me and Shadowy Lady. In past kits, Shadowy Lady has had disappointing color payoff and finish.
Golden bronzing powder is a light, camel-toned bronzing powder. This color probably won’t show up on skin darker than NC/W25. I’m not a big fan of this formula. The powder is on the dry side and the pan is very sensitive to moisture such that it forms a stiff layer on top of the powder that you have to scrape off to be able to pick up the powder underneath. This shade leaves a sheen to the skin, but you can still use it as a light contouring color as well as an overall bronzer.
Barely Lit lipstick is a medium, shimmering nude. It’s a wonderful nude shade that won’t wash you out. It will pair with many skin tones and shades.
Headturner is a pigmented cerise pink shade. The formula is more stiff than Barely Lit, which is much creamier. But it has wonderful color and doesn’t dry out the lips.
This is a good kit except for the bronzing powder, which is less than impressive.
Ease of Use: 8.5/10
The eye shadows transfer well without needing additional layering, though you may want to build up Hearts-a-flutter to get it to show up on similarly-colored skin. The lipsticks apply decently, though I find the pan form a little awkward to work with. Because of Headturner’s stiffer formula, it does pull at the skin when you’re applying it with the lip brush that comes with this kit.
The bronzing powder requires you to scrape the top of the powder if anything close to moisture gets on it. This is a bit of a nuisance and wastes product.
For $56.00 you get 0.1 ounces (3 grams) of eye shadow, 0.1 ounces (3 grams) of bronzing powder, and 0.03 ounces (0.9 grams) lipstick. Regular MAC eye shadows cost $15.00 and contain 1.5 grams each. Bronzing powders cost $24.00 and contain 10 grams each. Lipsticks cost $15.00 and contain 3 grams each. You actually do not save money by buying the items together in this kit. Granted, the packaging is cute and there is a mini brush included, but those things still don’t make this item a deal.
