Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.
This review is for the five (5) limited-edition Lipsticks releasing with MAC’s Apres Chic Collection. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:
- Après Chic: Pinky brick red (Cremesheen)
- Haute Altitude: Mid-tone blue pink (Amplified Creme)
- Hot Chocolate: Mid-tone plum (Satin)
- Cozy Up: Deep caramel (Matte)
- Warm Companion: Beige with gold pearlized pigments (Frost)
These lipsticks come in standard MAC packaging. The tubes are made of plastic and can easily be taken on-the-go.
Warm Companion is a semi-translucent, light peach shade with a shimmery gold finish. This shade will pale out your lips, but the translucent finish of the shade keeps it from looking overpowering.
Cozy Up is a peach shade that leans brown and leaves a matte finish that can emphasize dry skin if your lips aren’t exfoliated.
Haute Altitude is a mid-toned, yellow-based pink color with a slightly glossy finish.
Après Chic is a pink-based brick red that leaves a glossy finish.
Hot Chocolate is a grey-based plum shade with a very creamy formula and an opaque finish.
All of the lipsticks in the Apres Chic collection have good pigmentation and apply evenly over the skin. The only outlier of the five (5) shades is Cozy Up, which skips more across the lips and has a less creamy formula.
Ease of Use: 9/10
The formula is fairly easy to apply in a smooth and even manner, though Cozy Up takes more warming up to apply without skipping.
These are the same size (3 g) as regular MAC lipsticks, but the price has gone up to $15.00.
