- Rosy Romance: Bluish plum with subtle pink pearlized pigments
- Stay Warm!: Creamy light pink
Packaging: 9/10
MAC’s Mineralize Tinted Lip Balms come in narrow, clear, plastic squeeze tubes. The caps twist off to reveal a plastic, slanted applicator.
Quality: 9/10
Stay Warm! is a light, soft pink that has gold pearlized pigments in the tube, but looks like a clear balm on the lips.
Slightly Nude is a light, brown-based orange shade that has gold pearlized pigments in the tube. It deepens my lip color slightly. The shimmer particles don’t translate once the balm is applied.
Pure & Tender is a dirty pink shade that looks nearly clear on my lips, but gives a whisper of pink without any shimmer.
Nice & Simple is a shimmering gold shade. This is the only shade where the shimmer particles are noticeable on the lips. The color also imparts gold pigment onto the lips, so be sure to blend out the color evenly over the lips. Otherwise, you get gold streaks on the skin.
Rosy Romance is a translucent rose color. The shimmer particles, again, don’t translate onto the skin. This is the most noticeable shade of the five colors.
The formula for MAC’s Mineralize Tinted Lip Balms is very emollient. The gloss has body to it without being sticky. Your lips will stay soft and moisturized for as long as the balm is sitting on top of the skin, and for about an hour after the gloss has worn off.
The colors, except for Rosy Romance, are very sheer. And, unfortunately, the shimmer you see in the tube doesn’t show up on the skin, except for with Nice & Simple. All the colors leave a shiny surface to the lips. On my lips, these last two (2) to three (3) hours before wearing off.
Ease of Use: 9.25/10
The slanted applicator isn’t the best for creating precise application, but the colors for these balms is sheer enough that precise application isn’t necessary.
Price: 8.25/10
These balms cost $19.50 and contain 10 ml (0.33 fl oz) of product. MAC’s Clear Lipglass costs $15.00 and contains 15 ml of product.
The tinted lip balm is so excellent! I can avoid having the chapped lips with tinted lip balm during the cold and dry winter days.
Hm…I’m tempted by Rosy Romance even though it’s not very unique…but I really need to start only wearing lippies with SPF…
