A kohl pencil that has all the intensity and colour-power of ultra-soft carbon. Provides deep, fully opaque coverage and an intense, smoked finish with duo-chrome pearl. Versatile in application: blend or smudge. Packaged in blue and white stripes, it’s a match to everything Hey, Sailor!
This review is for the 3 limited-edition Powerpoint Eye Pencils releasing with MAC’s upcoming Hey, Sailor! Collection. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:
- Hand Forged: Gold metallic yellow (Repromote)
- Emerald Sea: Kelly green
- Blue Stripe: Dark navy
Like all MAC PowerPoint pencils, these come in pencil form without sharpeners. These eye pencils are decorated with blue nautical stripes.
Hand Forged is a deep gold with silver shimmers. The color applies opaquely and has great pigmentation.
Emerald Sea is a light, Kelly green with extremely tiny light green shimmers that are hard to perceive. This color doesn’t apply as opaquely as I would like, even with a few layers.
Blue Stripe is a navy blue with small light blue shimmers. Depending on the lighting, it can give off an almost-purple sheen. This color has good pigmentation and goes on opaque if you apply a couple layers.
Hand Forged has the best formula, applying the most opaque color. It’s followed by Blue Stripes and then Emerald Sea.
The formula for the Powerpoint Eye Pencils isn’t the creamiest and not as soft as I’d prefer. Overall, I think these are good quality, but not great. The colors are also good, but not particularly unique.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
The pencils could be softer, and while they won’t skip, you will feel slight tugging on the skin during application.
These are 1.2 g and cost $16.00 each. Normal MAC eye pencils are not only $2.00 cheaper, but contain more product. The price is higher than usual because of the limited-edition packaging.
