- Forever Marilyn: Sheer pale peach highlighter
Packaging: 9/10
This Beauty Powder comes in a standard MAC compact and has an image of Marilyn Monroe on the lid.
Quality: 9.5/10
MAC describes Forever Marilyn as having a pale peach tone, which is true when just looking at the product in the pan. But once the powder (swatched heavily) is on my skin, I actually find that it’s a pale pink shade. In any case, the tone is so pale that there’s effectively no color once the powder is blended out. This isn’t surprising, since even MAC says the shade is “delicately” tinted.
The formula for this Beauty Powder is buttery and smooth. It applies and feels like silk, leaving a refined sheen to the skin that is neither glittery nor sparkly, but instead lightens the skin just a little and brings a subtle luminescence to it.
Unfortunately, I think this shade may come across ashy on deeper skin tones. But if you have fair, light, or even light-medium skin, this is a beautiful, understated yet noticeable luminizing powder.
Ease of Use: 10/10
MAC states that you can use this powder as a highlighter, soft blush, or for an overall finish. Use as a highlighter or overall finish I agree with, but I don’t really see this being used as a blush shade since (1) it lightens all but the fairest of skin and (2) has virtually no pink/peach tone.
The powder blends smoothly and effortlessly over skin.
Price: 8.75/10
For $28.00 you get 10 grams of product. Previous limited edition Beauty Powders had the same amount of product and cost $25.00.
Oh I want this!!
