This review is for the new, limited-edition Fluidline shade in Local Wares, which releases with MAC’s upcoming Style Seeker Collection. This post includes photographs and swatches:
- Local Wares: Mid-tone olive with multi-dimensional pearlized pigments
Local Wares is the only new color from the Style Seekers. Rich Ground and Blacktrack, included in this collection, are both permanent shades. Dark Diversion, also re-promoted in this collection, has been released multiple times before. You can see a review of it, including swatches and photographs, here.
Packaging: 9/10
Fluidlines come in small glass jars with twist-off tops. The packaging keeps the product from drying out effectively.
Quality: 8.5/10
MAC describes Local Wares as an olive color with multi-dimensional pearls. The shade does technically have a brown-olive tone to it with small gold shimmer. For practical purposes, though, this shade looks like a grey-brown liner. You can’t really see any olive tone or the gold shimmer particles when Local Wares is applied in a thin line on your lid.
As is typical of the Fluidline formula, this shade is very creamy. It leaves a pigmented and even line of color across the lash-line. The liner lasts all day without any flaking, fading, or smudging.
If you don’t already have a deep brown or grey cream or gel liner, then this is a good choice. But if you were expecting a more unique color or to get a noticeable olive-green tint to this shade, you should pass on Local Wares.
Ease of Use: 9.8/10
The formula is extremely easy to use. It glides across the lash-line with zero skipping or tugging and gives you a pretty opaque line.
Price: 9/10
Fluidlines cost $15.00 each and contain 3 grams of liner. This is the standard price and size. These will last you a very, very long time.
Would you say this is similar to blitz and glitz? And thank you for your amazing reviews!
Yup.
I was hoping this would be more of a green-toned olive, but I’ll probably buy it anyway. Thank you SO MUCH for always busting your butt to get swatches up before a MAC collection is available online! This is my favorite beauty website, and I appreciate that your hard work has saved me money more than it’s caused me to spend money. lol
Thank you so much.
I will put the review up today, but I will say that it’s difficult to see the olive tone to this color when applied as a liner.
