Company’s Description
Embossed with her signature ladybug motif, this powder could only be M·A·C Vera. Three shades in both pearl and matte finishes. Effortless to blend, provides a dynamic highlight for face or eyes.
This review is for the 2 new Pearlmatte Face Powders releasing with MAC’s upcoming Vera Collection. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:
- Sunday Afternoon: Clean bright pink/bright clean fuchsia/soft pale pink with white pearl
- Flower Fantasy: Pale coral with slight gold pearl/slightly blue pale pink/soft pale salmon
Packaging: 9/10
The packaging is the same as for the Blush Ombres. Pearlmatte Powders come in plastic compacts with snap-shut, flip-up lids that are clear.
The pans are flat, divided into 3 shades, and embossed with the Vera signature and ladybug.
Quality: 9.25/10
Sunday Afternoon contains a pepto-pink, deep fuchsia pink, and light, frosty pink color. The pink colors aren’t pigmented and have weak color payoff. Blended together, you get a beautiful, finely-milled sheen a very subtle hint of light pink.
Flower Fantasy contains a salmon-pink, medium baby pink, and slightly peach frost color. Again, the pink colors have weak pigmentation and payoff. Blended together, you get the same beautiful, finely-milled sheen with a very subtle hint of salmony-pink.
Normally, weak pigmentation would be a huge negative. But since MAC doesn’t intend this to be used as a blush, the weak color isn’t a negative. I initially thought MAC said these could also be used on the eyes, but I later realized MAC meant that it could be used on the eyes as a highlight.
No matter what part of the face you use these on, I think they make for very nice highlighters and both shades have subtle enough color that they will work with a wide range of skin tones. The finely-milled shimmers are the cornerstone to making these give a very pretty sheen to the skin.
Ease of Use: 9.25/10
Once mixed together, these powders apply smoothly and evenly without giving a disco-ball look to the skin.
If you match up the shades to a corresponding blush color you don’t have to worry as much about blending since your highlighter and blush will already be similar in hue.

Both look so lovely, I think about getting Flower Fantasy
